5”Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, not turn away from the words of my mouth.
6Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” - Proverbs 4:5-7 KJV
There are two kinds of wisdom: Heavenly and Demonic (James 3:13-18). I suggest that you read it first so that you will fully understand what wisdom really is… where does it come from; how can you get wisdom… Before I’ll answer all your questions which I know some of you already knew the answers to these, first let me share my spiritual point of view about wisdom. I’m doing this for the sake of those who doesn’t know or haven’t experience wisdom yet.
Guys if you have already read James 3:13-18 for sure you will quickly understand all I’m about to say. See, “heavenly wisdom” comes from God. “Demonic wisdom” comes from the father of this world (Satan). Wisdom is so precious. It is more valuable than gold and silver. That is what the Scripture says (Proverbs 16:16). So if you have wisdom, aside from God’s grace (Salvation), you are the richest person in this generation. I can compare wisdom to the air we breathe. Without it, we die. I can compare it to the food we eat and to the clothes we wear. Bottom line… we really need wisdom. We all should desire for wisdom.
Okay, here are the answers to all the questions:
Where does wisdom come from: I think you already know the answer if you read (James 3:13-18)
What should I do to have wisdom: Let me take you for a moment into King Solomon’s (son of King David) life. The Book Proverbs was written through King Solomon’s wisdom (Heavenly or spiritual wisdom not Demonic). Here’s what he did to have wisdom (1 Kings 3:1-14) GNB. – Please read it first. If you don’t have a Bible, click here to read it online.
……… …….. ………. ……. …. …. .. .
So, how was it? Does it give you the answers to your questions? For me, yes it did guys. You see, rather than asking for long life, riches, or death for enemies, King Solomon pleaded for wisdom. Plead God to give it to you. For God is the only One who can give you spiritual wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). Also plead for understanding (1 Kings 3:9)… “and to know the difference between good and evil…” According to some dictionaries they defined “understanding” as: intelligence or knowledge. So you have also to ask for knowledge (understanding). It takes time to have wisdom and understanding so pray, plead for it, submit your life to God, and patiently wait for it.
What is the right age to plead for wisdom: At any point of your life. Your age won’t matter (1 Kings 3:7)… “even though I am young and don’t how to rule.” As long as you have the desire to have wisdom, that is the only thing you need – desire.
What are the benefits of wisdom and understanding: Many! Aside from the fact that the Lord will be pleased, here are the blessings that God would pour on you if you desire for wisdom:
- Wealth and Honor (1 Kings 3:13) & (Proverbs 8:11)
- Glory (Proverbs 3:35)
- Life (Proverbs 4:13)
- Long Life (1 Kings 3:14) – read this carefully.
- Providens (Proverbs 16:21)
- Crown of Glory (Proverbs 16:31)
- And many many more!
So my friends light up your desire to have wisdom. Wisdom is all we need!
May god’s peace and grace, and love be upon you all! To God be the Glory!
