“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him” - Lamentation 3:25 JKV
WAIT… According to some dictionaries they defined wait as: to remain in expectancy, watch for, or postpone. In our daily activities waiting is always present. For example: you’re waiting for your coffee to be serve; you’re waiting for a cab; you’re waiting for the sun to set or sometimes you’re just waiting for the day to pass by because you have no activities yet to attend. See guys, waiting is just around the corner. Sometimes you won’t even notice that you are in a situation wherein waiting is already at your front door. It is because there are so many things running in your mind, and at the same time you are breathing in this hurry-up, hectic world.
But what does the Scripture (Bible) really meant by “wait”? “Wait” in the Scripture means: faithfulness, truthfulness, loyalty, righteousness, and humbleness before the Lord. As a Christian, in our spiritual side you cannot wait for Him without faith. You cannot wait before Him without truthfulness in your heart. You cannot wait if you’re not loyal to Him. Righteousness is indeed needed in waiting. And humbleness is a big thing in waiting for the Lord.
The Lord’s coming is very very near but, nobody knows the exact hour, date, month, and year of His return. That is why we should “wait for the Lord”. And don’t forget that reading His words (Bible) is one way of “seeking” the Lord.
May God’s peace and grace, and love be upon you all! To God be the Glory!
